Do the regular nintendo ds R4 games that you download work if you donload them onto the new R4i chip?

Every slot-1 flashcart for the DS uses the same type of file: *.nds. That means that you can transfer games from any flashcart you want to another, however (and I don't know if this is the case with the R4i), not all flashcarts use the same save-type. This means you need to start all over if you don't convert them. Here's a great site to convert your save-games: http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php

You can also use this site to convert save-games from gamefaqs or savegames made by emulators.

I have just purchased a DS R4 chip. I have used it in my DS i just dont know how to actually download new games and delete old ones. Any answers will be welcome.

go look for a website, download a game, and drag it to your R4 file.

Your Micro SD card needs to be formatted to FAT32, you can do that by connecting your Micro SD card into your computer. Click "My Computer">Right Click on your Micro SD card>Then click "Format">A new window will pop up, chose FAT32 and press Format.

Ok now you need the firmware or kernel, use this site to download the latest NDS R4 Kernal: http://r4ds.cn/

OK now you have a formatted Micro SD Card and you have downloaded some ROMS (games). Connect your Micro SD card and go to "My Computer">Your Micro SD Card. Now your Micro SD card should be empty, copy the newest kernel that you downloaded from the official R4 site onto your Micro SD. You need a program such as 7-Zip or Win RAR to extract the files. Once extracted copy ALL the files onto your Micro SD Card. OK now take the games that you downloaded and copy them onto your Micro SD Card. Take your Micro SD Card out and plug it into your R4 and your DONE! You can now start to enjoy playing free games.

If you ever want to delete a game go to "My Computer">Your Micro SD Card and select the .nds file and the .sav file of the game that you want to delete and press delete.
