I need to know because my last joystick stoped working and my dad still wants to use this computer that was made 10 years ago..
because r and s gets alot of answers

Check to see what operating systems are supported by it or if it has drivers for win 98.

And this is so in the wrong section.

Why is the in R&S?

Should be in polls or something.

Does the Saitek PS30 Cyborg evo wireless joystick include an incorporated throttle?

Does this joystick have a throttle on the joystick?

Yes it does. It can be a bit awkward though. There's a lever at the rear of the base. That's the throttle control.

What is best for "CRYSIS " on the pc, , , a joystick or a game pad?

After getting a new top end quad core pc with a 26" monitor and HD 4870 1gb graphics i am looking at getting a shoot em up type game , and at the moment, crysis seems to be the most talked about release ( for good or bad reasons ! ) , , so i am thinking about buying it later this week.
I am fairly new to gaming and have only very recently taken the plunge with a few flight sims, , is crysis a bit too complex for a 1st time gamer and should i start off with something easier to play, , or should i just take the plunge and go for it ?
I have a few flight simulator games presently and as such, i have a saitek cyborg evo joystick.
What i would like to know is, , can crysis be played with a joystick , , or is it much better to invest in a gamepad instead ? ? ?

Personally, I much prefer to play PC first person shooters with a mouse and keyboard (and did so with Crysis with no problems), but if you're fixated on analog sticks, I'd imagine a game pad from the XBOX 360 would be much less awkward than a joystick since you have to move your gun AND the character, hence the usefulness of two sticks on a game pad (or the keyboard + mouse in the case of the PC).

In regards to Crysis's difficulty, I wouldn't say it's the most simplistic of shooters, but I don't think it's learning curve is overly high on the easiest of settings.

As a side note, I have played first person shooters on the XBOX with zero problems in regards to awkwardness or difficulty (which some people seem to have problems with), but the mouse is indeed much faster and accurate, i.e. easier, to aim with than a gaming pad.

I don't know if Crysis is very hard to play, but I heard it lacked gameplay. Gameplay = the fun you have playing the game.

I suggest you to get the orange box. It includes 5 games which are: Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode One, Half-Life 2 Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2. If you put the games in the "easy/normal" setting, they would be good games to start your gaming experience. It's the best games I've played in my life. As you have a 1Gb videocard, I'm sure those games will work smoothly at very high settings and at a big resolution.

About joysticks and gamepads, you don't want to run The Orange Box or Crysis with them. Games like that are called FPS (stands for First-Person Shooter), which mean you look around and you only see the gun. The best way to be precise while shooting is by using a mouse. Playing the orange box or crysis with a joystick or gamepad will ruin your gameplay experience as the game will be way too much tough.

So good luck, do not forget about the Orange Box. At least check it out, it's the highest rated Meta-critic game:
